We have used 'yourdomainname.com' throughout the instructions. Please substitute your actual user id and domain name (Ex: firstname.lastname@yellowcircle.com or mail.yellowcircle.com) in place of 'yourdomain.com' and 'johndoe@yourdomain.com'.

Oulook comes in two versions: Internet Only and Corporate/Workgroup. To determine which version of Outlook you are configuring:
Open Outlook and click on the Tools Menu. Scroll towards the bottom. If you see: Accounts - Then choose:
Services - Then choose:
How to Configure Outlook 2000 for Internet Only
- Open Outlook 2000.

- From the Tools menu, choose Account.

- Double-click your primary email program in the list.

- Click on the Servers tab.

- The Incoming mail server (POP3) and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field should both be set to mail.(yourdomain).com. Important: Be sure that in the Account Name field, you type your full email address (e.g., johndoe@yourdomainname.com).
- Check the box next to My server requires authentication.
Note: Do NOT check Log on using Secure Password Authentification (SAP)
- Click the Settings button.

- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.

- Click the Close button.

- Congratulations! You have successfully configured Outlook
2000 for SMTP Authentication for Internet
Only.
How to Configure Outlook 2000 for SMTP
Authentication for Corporate and
Workgroup
- Open Outlook 2000.

- From the Tools menu, choose Services.

- Select Internet E-mail in the list.
- Click the Properties button.

- Click on the Servers tab.

- The Incoming mail server (POP3) and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field should both be set to mail.(yourdomain).com. Important: Be sure that in the Account Name field, you type your full email address (e.g., johndoe@yourdomainname.com).
- Check the box next to My server requires authentication.
