Note:
We have used 'yourdomainname.com' throughout the instructions. Please substitute your actual user id and domain name (Ex: firstname.lastname@yellowcircle.com or mail.yellowcircle.com) in place of 'yourdomain.com' and 'johndoe@yourdomain.com'.
- Open Outlook Express.

- From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.

- Select your email account in the Account list.
Note: Your email account may have a different name from the example below, but the type will be "mail."
- Click on the Mail tab, select the email account you want to edit from the list and then click the Properties button.

- Click on the Servers tab.

- The Incoming mail server (POP3) and the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) field should both be set to mail.(yourdomain).com. Important: Be sure that in the Account Name field, you type your full email address (e.g., johndoe@yourdomainname.com).
- Check the box next to My server requires authentication.
Note: Do NOT check Log on using Secure Password Authentification (SAP)
- Click the Settings button.

- Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
- Click the OK button.
- Click the OK button.

- Click the Close button.

- Congratulations! You have successfully configured Outlook
Express 5.0-6.0 for SMTP
Authentication.
